Doll heads and optical lenses

I'm slowly starting to play with my bell jar installation. I've added a couple of things to the assembly under the glass dome:

- a vintage bisque china porcelain doll head, which I just love and I'm planning to get a few more doll parts to my collection, maybe even make some into necklaces (this doll head was dug up around a doll factory in Thuringia, Germany which operated between 1890-1920)

- and behind the doll you can see an antique optical lens, which I've already worn on a chain as a necklace. It's fun to find multiple uses for these objects.

The next thing on my wish list: an anatomical heart model, small enought to fit inside my bell jar.

Can trash be appealing?

 

Absolutely, even pretty, if you use some pink polka dot bags...

 

 

On the streets of New York - the work of Adrian Kondratowicz, called Project TRASH: Any Color You Like "is a vivid art intervention for urban beautification and environmental awareness."

 

 

 

"The project consists of select city blocks in which new artist-created biodegradable bags transform standard piles of trash into vivid sculptures of color through the participation of local business owners and residents. The project was developed by artist Adrian Kondratowicz."

 

 

I love the idea behind it. Make it beautiful, make it fun, raise awareness.

I wish we could all have polka dot trash bags. It would take taking-out-the-trash-every-evening to another level. Actually, these bags are so appealling, hopefully they won't lead to people creating more trash just to fill them! :D
