Apparently Steve Martin always used to send humorous responses to fan mail. This one was sent in the early 80-s when he was at the top of his game. It's written on his production company's letterhead to a fan named Jerry. So funny.

Ever use that sexy stripping technique while undressing in front of your husband before bed time? Yeah, your husband wishes, right? :)

 

Well, here's how it's done, according to Allan Gilbert School of Undressing. The class is taught by an ex-burlesque stripper June St. Clair and apart from her involves one typical clumsy wife...

Funny and Educational

   

Ha! Is this for real? I suppose it is. I've been wondering why husband and I are so tired all the time - we are too skinny! (Ha again!) This plan sure sounds good.

 

    

Why gentlemen prefer blondes? I've been asking myself that question ever since I stopped being blonde. And this scientific test, involving some Hollywood actresses tells us it's because they are steadier workers. Who would have thought that would be the reason?! I think I'm really not fit to be a blonde.

 

 

Funny. We are probably not far from this actually happening. Or, maybe it is already happening? SCARY.

Badly Behaved Courtesy Cards

     

 

These courtesy cards are so unbelievably rude and impolite and so hillarious. Would you ever dare to use one? Ha! Were there ever moments when you wished you had one? Ha again! :)

 

The makers, Gramkin studio, says:

 

"Are you tired of trying to have a good time with your friends and being interrupted by that annoying pick up artist?"

What Ho!

Did you ever see the Jeeves and Wooster show? A British comedy series starring my most favorite Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry (oh, how I love them!). Hugh as Bertie Wooster, a jovial but empty-headed young gentlemen in pre-world war II and Fry as Jeeves, his improbably well-informed and talented valet.

 

          

Bertie Wooster: "And if that doesn't leave me without a stain on my conscience, then I don't know what it doesn't leave me without a stain on."

 

Well, of course you saw the show, so do forgive me for telling you what you know. I just wanted to write "jovial but empty-headed" and "improbably well-informed" and I also wanted to share my fondness for Laurie and Fry. One other show that I adore is Blackadder, especially the third series with Prince George, Prince Regent, a dim-witted aristocrat played again by Hugh Laurie.

 

             

 

Thank goodness for House show, as I think that Laurie was being typecast. On second thought, I think I prefer Laurie when he's being empty-headed!

 

Anyway, I just spotted these pendant Jeeves and Wooster lights and almost fell off of my chair with delight and desire. Aren't they just splendid? Pardon my English :)

Laughter, Essential

I never thought I would refer to Woody Allen as cute, but he is undeniably cute in these photos from What's New, Pussycat movie. 

Having a romantic moment and an awkward, sweet kiss with Romy Schneider on a library ladder.

 

Have you ever seen What's New, Pussycat? It's very funny throughout (it's written by Woody), but the first 5 minutes of the movie are the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. It makes me laugh hysterically every time.

 

Here is some of the dialogue from the begining of the movie, that is a frequent part of The Tarnoff comedy routine... :)

 

Dr. Fritz (Peter Sellers) is fighting with his wife Anna, a big Wagnerian Blonde...

 

Dr. Fritz Fassbender: I've hated you from the first moment I married you!

 

Anna Fassbender: Fritz is fooling around with a floozie!

 

Dr. Fritz Fassbender: Silence when you're shouting at me!

 

Anna Fassbender: Is she prettier than me?
Dr. Fritz Fassbender: Is she prettier than you? I'M prettier than YOU!
