I feel like I need this weekend to be dressed up pretty and feeling cozy, as I'm either coming down with a cold or suffering from some kind of spring allergy and therefore feeling quite poorly. Spring is here, indeed. We felt it today, with our perfect 72 degrees. Oh, yes, it's going to be all about lounging and reading, a bit of crafting and a lot of relaxing, long walks and infusions of green.
To set the mood here are some of my favorite images on this quiet Friday...

Beautiful Louise Brooks, dressed in the most appealing velvet, surrounded with the perfect shade of pink and settled in a comfortable, over-sized chair.

Illustrations of pretty chairs and sofas, in my favorite stripes.

A little reading and romance and perhaps some daydreaming, too.
If only I knew how to sew... even so, one of these days one of this wonderful vintage (Singer?) sewing machines is bound to find a spot in our home.

Mmmm, if one has a bed like this, one needs nothing else.
Pretty and unusual music chairs, would fit beautifully next to an old grand piano.

What an amazing painting this is, Fireplace by James Tissot, it's attempting to draw me right in.

A spot of lying on the grass and inhaling the smell of spring is in order, as are the greenest socks one could find or bear to wear.

It's a tree, no, it's a horse, no, it's a lady riding a horse in the trees. And it's delightful. (Rene Magritte, Carte Blanche)

It would be just lovely to end the day with a long "Wuthering Heights" kind of stroll, through the wide and wild moors, heavy with fog and mystery.
Hope your weekend is full of charm, lovely surprises and relaxing moments!
