Love the colors, beauty, shapes and texture, the art that peeling paint creates on these doors, shutters, walls... extraordinary beauty everywhere.
Wonderful combination of colors - a door somewhere in Wales.
Would love to have this piece on my wall - the tree knot (if that is what it is) protruding under the paint is a work of genius. :)
I see a cat's face it the top right corner, or a guy wearing a monocle - what do you see?
If I tried to create this effect myself, I would fail miserably!
There should be a new design trend - decorate your house in peeling paint. I would do it!
And last...
The Emperor of the Peeling paint kingdom... the texture here is absolutely stunning. I see this as the most exquisite jewelry piece.

Extraordinary indeed! There is just something so "romantic" about crumbling buildings...

I love this post! I see so much beauty in peeling paint. I often photograph the layers of paint that reveal themselves as we do our renovation jobs. It's so fun to see a window sill in a 100 year old house that has been painted yellow, pink, blue, green, white, black, etc. I like to think about the people who lived in these houses through the years. The layers of paint tell a little story. These photos are just beautiful!

I found your site by googling for a wonderful quote I once read about the beauty of peeling paint (vs. the new and planned). I did not find the quote, but I feel fortunate to have found your blog and these great photos.
