I love color, although I tend to end up wearing mostly black and brown (occasionally I go wild and grab for the fuchsia). Some of the colors I could place in my favorites are purples, greens and peach. I found this extraordinarily beautiful paper in the art store the other day featuring exactly those colors...
Isn't it lovely?
It inspired me to look for some color in my closet.
I found a couple of simple but colorful, pleasing to the eye cardigans and a cute shirt and dressed them together.
I think the next step is to try and dress myself in them. After all, I promised myself that this year I would try to wear clothes with some color, be a little bit adventurous and playful, try to use almost every single item I own in some way, and step out of black. I have not done so satisfactorily but the year is not over yet.
Here is the first combination...
My cardigan is holding onto my newest read from Persephone Books (a small british publisher that prints mainly neglected fiction and non-fiction from years past, by women, for women and about women. I highly recommend them.)
I wish I had shoes like these, but I guess if I did they wouldn't be so small and adorable.
I've decorated my ensemble with some Ginkgo leaves. So pretty. We have quite a few trees in our neighborhood, walking underneath them feels like walking through clouds.
Here is a Ginkgo cloud...
And here is my second model...
Wearing a string of vintage African glass beads and holding onto a bunch of Ginkgo leaves. Above little guy is a new addition into our slowly growing succulent family. You gotta love those succulents.
P.S.
You know what I'm going to do with that paper?
I'm going to decoupage our white plain refrigerator! Hopefully this weekend.
I will share with you the finished result.
xoxoxo
What a feast of colour. I'm sure you'll look magnificent in your imaginative outfit and you'll have a matching fridge too!

Tina--I love both combinations. You could wear them with black jeans/trousers or skirt & not feel too splashy, no?
Persephone Books is wonderful, I love them. A most worthy mission.
The fridge will feel fabulous after being re-dressed. Great paper.

Hi Tina,
I especially xo the purple combo and think you'd be smashing with your jet black hair!
