One of my most favorite little spots in San Francisco is Napier Lane. It's a little wooden plank street (apparently the only one still around), surrounded by lush vegetation and beautiful gardens. It's also home to many charming old houses that have real character. This is also the place where some of the scenes from the movie,"Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1978 with Donald Sutherland and Brook Adams; directed by San Francisco's Phil Kaufman) were filmed.

I'm so fond of this house with the green window panes. It looks like it must date from before the great 1906 earthquake, when a lot of the buildings burned down.

Napier Lane is located off of the Filbert Steps and Grace Marchant Gardens, also great favorites.
