I love color and I love gypsy style. Therefore I am especially fond of Jeanne Bayol - a french interior designer who is passionate about l'esprit tzigane. She lives in the heart of Provence and restores old gypsy caravans (roulottes), swaths them in bright colors, fabric and layers of decoration. Wouldn't you want one? To travel around the country in or to have in your back yard, as an escape oasis.
Would you join me for a cup of tea and some color?
I think it's time for some colorful pajamas and some lounging (I think this place is made for leisure time.)
A bath fit for a princess.
So cozy and cheerful. I think to be in a bad mood in one of these caravans would be abolutely sacrilegious.
Jeanne fits right in, with her gorgeous silver flats, peasant skirt and ethnic jewelry.
And now, I believe, a siesta is in order.
The colors are just amazing.
Wouldn't this be great for garden parties? Or a wedding?
So unbelievably lovely. The roulottes can be ordered at Les Verdines. How fun!

I LOVE this ad for Australia Post, entitled Hug...
"If you really want to touch someone, send them a letter."
Why have we all stopped writing letters? I keep hearing people say how much they like getting a handwritten letter in the mail, but they rarely do.
People, let's write nice, kind letters to each other and leave wonderful and funny notes in cupboards and refrigerators for our loved ones. I sometimes do, to my husband, and it always makes him smile! :)

What? Yes, the Lace Fence.
By the Dutch design team Demakersvan and here is what they have to say:
"Industrial production is for us a big source of inspiration. The Big Miracle of how some products come about is a beautiful phenomenon if you look at it closely. In our projects we often combine the sensitive and the small with the powerful, large and industrial.
The Lace Fence project translates that line of thinking. Fencing is a sign how we modified and cultivated our environment. Like brambles fences are rising rampantly around us. What would happen if a patch of embroided wire would meet with and continue as an industrial fence.
Hostility versus kindness, industrial versus craft."
Lace Fence contains decorative elements based on traditional lace patterns.
I love the idea behind this design and mixing of the industrial and craft. Brilliant. If we need to be fenced in let us at least be inside a Lace Fence!
