This should be my home

I have a great wish to make our living room look like part old apothecary, part Holmes study, part mad Victorian scientist laboratory, part Joseph Cornell studio. I've been slowly collecting apothecary jars, broken doll parts, stereoscopes, frog heart models, unusual plants, glass cloches, fossil specimens and weird illustrations. I had some luck with treasure hunting lately and will share the finds soon. The photos below perfectly illustrate what I would feel good surrounded by at the moment...

Now that I've shared these I just realized they are mostly of apothecary and other odd jars. Have I missed my vocation? Not of being a pharmacist, no, that would have been too ordinary. Perhaps a snake oil salesman at the carnival? :) Come forth, ladies and gents, I've got a cure for everything...

Colors of Autumn...

I love Autumn. I'm looking forward to foggy days, fallen leaves, warm comforting colors, mist and chill in the air.

Summer

It's hard to believe that Summer is almost over. It seems like time is flying by at an accelerated speed lately. Well, I'm looking forward to Autumn, as always. (And, our San Franciscan Indian Summer, come to think of it.)

Tonight's inspiration: rust and gold

These warm rust and gold images make me feel almost like I'm sitting next to a fireplace. A fireplace, which would have been absolutely welcomed these past few days, what with the temperatures almost below freezing (I am spoiled, living in San Francisco, I'm aware :) and almost snowing on Saturday - it would have been the first time since 1975. Snow didn't appear (well, a few claimed there were some snow flurries) but the cold still lingers. Hopefully not for much longer.

Green

I'm on a little green binge, everything I like this week, everywhere I look, everything I take pictures of is in the tones of green. Yesterday we stopped by the Botanical gardens which left me with about 200 or so green photos to sort through. Will share them with you later. You can't wait, right? :)
